- 5–6 large apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 Tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease baking dish or cast iron pan
- Peel and core apples and cut them into thin ¼ inch slices.
- Combine apples, brown sugar, white sugar, cornstarch, butter, lemon juice, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. Mix until the apples are completely coated.
- Layer apple slices in your baking dish until completely filled.
- Scatter slices of butter across the top of the apples.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30-40 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring every 10-15 minutes.
- Let cool for 10 minutes. Serve with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
Notes
- I typically used Granny Smith, Fuji, Pink Lady, or Honeycrisp apples for baked apple slices.
