Sparkling Christmas Punch (Non-Alcoholic)
With the holiday season just around the corner, I am excited to share how to make a good Christmas punch non alcoholic for other hostesses like me who like to ensure everyone feels festive with the perfect holiday drink regardless of their age and preferences.
And never fear, you can always add alcohol as a last step—but there’s already plenty of cheer in this delightfully fruity concoction. This sparkling Christmas punch has been a favorite in my family’s holiday celebrations, with generations of us happily hauling out the punch bowl and combining the juices and sodas to herald the season.
As I said, the beauty of non-alcoholic holiday punches is they cater to everyone, ensuring that all party-goers can partake in the festive cheer. As a host, it’s important to me that all my guests feel welcome and have a variety of beverage options to choose from.
While there are many versions of Christmas punch out there, our family recipe features a mix of cranberry juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, and ginger ale or lemon-lime soda. Not only does this combination taste amazing, but it also creates a beautiful, vibrant red color that screams “Christmas!”
What to serve with sparkling Christmas punch
Now, you might be wondering what to serve with this delicious Christmas punch. Some of my personal holiday party pairings include an old-fashioned dried beef cheese ball and crackers, festive peppermint bark cookies, and hors d’oeuvres like bacon-wrapped chicken bites and bacon cracker appetizers.
For a full Christmas dinner or other holiday meal, this punch pairs wonderfully with classics like roasted turkey, honey-glazed ham, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole. And don’t forget dessert – this punch complements festive treats like pumpkin pie just perfectly!

Frequently asked questions about making sparkling Christmas punch
Below are some common questions and answers that may help as you make this non alcoholic punch recipe. If there’s something I haven’t covered, ask in the comments, and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
What is the basic formula for punch?
The basic formula for punch typically includes a combination of fruit juices, sodas, and sometimes alcohol. The ratios can vary depending on your taste preferences.
How do I make this punch alcoholic?
To make an alcoholic version of this punch, simply stir in one cup of rum or vodka to the batch.
What are some ways to make this punch special for a party?
To make this punch extra special for a party, consider creating a beautiful presentation with a large punch bowl, a garnished ice ring and colorful fruit slices. I make my ice ring with cranberries, rosemary, and pomegranate seeds. Here’s a great blog from Better Homes & Gardens about making ice rings and other fun features for punch.
Can I use a different type of soda or juice in this recipe?
You absolutely can use different types of soda or juice in this punch. Feel free to experiment with different flavors of soda and juice to create a unique twist on this recipe. Just keep in mind that changing the juices may affect the color.
Is it okay to make this punch a day in advance?
If you want to prepare the punch ahead of time, mix everything except for the soda and store it in the fridge. Add the soda no more than 10 minutes before serving to keep the “sparkle” of the carbonation.
Can I use frozen fruit as a substitute for ice?
Certainly! Frozen fruit in the place of an ice ring or ice cubes not only keeps the punch cold but also adds flavor and color as it thaws. Consider using frozen cranberries, raspberries, or blueberries.
Can I serve this punch warm?
While this holiday punch recipe is designed to be served chilled, you can try warming it on the stovetop or in a slow cooker. Just be aware that heating the punch may alter its flavor slightly and reduce the carbonation from the soda. A better alternative for a warm holiday drink is my traditional hot wassail.
