Black Bean, Feta and Corn Dip

Black bean, corn and feta dip is fresh, tangy and is just the right combination of hearty and zesty.

black bean and feta corn dip recipe

This dip is perfect for gatherings, game nights or any time you want a delicious snack that’s easy to make in one large bowl. It only takes a few minutes to prepare, so you can spend more time enjoying the party and less time in the kitchen. I like to call it “boat dip” because it’s so refreshing in the hot summer months, and easy to keep in the cooler on the boat!

The combination of sweet corn kernels, protein-packed black beans and crumbled feta cheese creates a satisfying bite with a light, tangy dressing pulling it all together. It’s not a heavy cheese dip, so it’s not too filling!

You can serve it as an appetizer, a side dish or as a topping for tacos or grilled meats. This black bean mixture pairs perfectly with tortilla chips, especially Fritos corn chips, which bring even more crunch and salt to contrast with the sweet corn.

What to serve with black bean, corn & feta dip

To complement the bright and tangy flavors of this dip, consider serving it with dishes that balance the richness and add variety. Try a fresh and light side, like a simple salad made with lettuce, avocado and a light apple cider vinaigrette, for a nice contrast to the dip’s creamy texture.

For a more substantial side, pair this dip with grilled meats such as chicken, shrimp, or even beef. The dipโ€™s flavor profile can enhance the savoriness of grilled foods, and the crunch of the chips and the dipโ€™s smoothness create a perfect balance with the meats.

No time for the grill? Try my easy oven-baked chicken instead. On the same note, this is a yummy side for burgers on the stove or in the oven, too.

For a refreshing beverage, my go-tos are iced tea or lemonade when serving this flavorful dip. For an alcoholic option, a crisp white wine or even a light beer will complement the tangy feta and the hearty beans.

Lastly, for dessert, keep things light and fruity with no-bake frozen lemonade pie or summer fruit salad with mint and honey.

Frequently asked questions about black bean corn feta dip

Below are some common questions and answers about making this dip. If you have a question I havenโ€™t covered, leave it in the comments, and I will reply as soon as I can!

Can I use fresh corn instead of canned?

Fresh corn off the cob will give the dip an extra burst of flavor and a slightly different texture. Just make sure to cook the corn first, and let it cool before adding it to the mix.

Can I make this dip ahead of time?

Yes, you can make this dip a few hours ahead of time and refrigerate it. In fact, letting it chill for a little in the fridge a little while allows the flavors to meld together. However, itโ€™s best to add the chips right before serving so they stay crisp.

What can I substitute for feta cheese?

If youโ€™re not a fan of feta, try using crumbled goat cheese for a similar tangy flavor. If you don’t do dairy, toss in a dairy-free cheese alternative instead.

Can I add more spices or flavorings to this dip?

If you like a bit of spice or punchier flavors, feel free to add some chopped jalapeรฑos, red onion, a pinch of chili powder or garlic powder. You could also try some fresh lime juice or lemon juice for an extra citrusy kick.
