Ingredients

42 ounces apple pie filling in cans
½ cup caramel bits or caramel sauce
1 box yellow cake mix or spice cake mix
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks, cut into slats
whipped cream or ice cream optional toppings

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9 x 13 baking dish and set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix together apple pie filling and cinnamon.
Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pan and smooth out evenly.
Evenly distribute the caramel bits (or sauce) across the apple filling.
Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the caramel and apple pie filling.
Place slats of butter in an even layer across the top of the cake mix.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until brown and bubbly. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve with ice cream or whipped cream on top and a drizzle of more caramel sauce.

Notes

If using a yellow cake mix, add ½ teaspoon of All-Spice to the dry cake mix before adding to the recipe.
